Tune into the dance of connection

Our Musical Playtime group is a great way to start the week. It’s a small, friendly, relaxed group aimed primarily at babies under 18-months, but toddlers and older siblings are also most welcome.

Grown-ups - please be assured we won’t put you on the spot or force you to sing if you don’t want to! We have tea / coffee and kitchen facilities if you want to stay for a bit after the group.

The group starts and ends with the same song each week and Alice brings a mixture of songs, rhymes and improvisations.

As a Music Therapist, Alice’s main aim is to respond musically, moment-by-moment, to the babies to give them an opportunity to lead the musical direction and to explore different sounds and percussion instruments.

The subtle dance of attunement is so easily understood through musical interactions and active participation. The Musical Playtime group offers a great opportunity for parents and carers to experience their babies as the skilful conductors they all are!

“My baby has changed so much in the time we’ve been coming to group, he loves watching Alice play different instruments (especially the flute!) and bounces along, he also really enjoys watching other babies play!”

“I enjoy the hour of chatting, singing and playing with my baby and other people, it’s a lovely way to start the week and we always look forward to it. It’s been hugely beneficial and a real joy!”
