The Hymhus Polycrub

Our Polycrub is a place where we grow some of our own produce. We also hope it is a place where people feel inspired and can come together to share knowledge and motivation to grow their own produce. Polycrubs are unique to Shetland and supplied by NCDC, you can find out more about their fabulous enterprise here.

The Hymhus Polycrub is always open and available to shelter in.

Supported by funding from Shetland Community Led Local Development fund and an inspiring fundraising campaign by local athlete Diana Oberman, our Polycrub was erected by a team of volunteers in 2023.

The project was led by our pioneer Project Officer Theresa Tate and we are most grateful for the help and guidance of Theresa’s parents, Tommy and the late Mary Tate.

Go Diana!

We all followed Diana’s progress on tenterhooks as she made her way around the North Coast 500 unsupported in late October 2022.

We will always be grateful to her for her fundraising triumph!
